Anyone have a Gullwing?

I was wondering if anyone here had a Gullwing?.....I'd love to see it.

I have an original brochure in mint condition. I may sell it if anyone is interested.

Also have a general Mercedes brocure from the 50's with all the models.

E-mail me at aaron@flat6.com

Thanks,
Aaron

1st photo:
A very good friend of mine, basement garage. He has his Gullwing converted for a speed record at Bonneville, with a modified stock engine. I have helped him install the engine and reassemble the car. He also has a 97 point dark blue roadster. I bought my 16valve off him.

2nd-5th photos:
Another friend who has a nice collection. You can see his 600, 300C, 300S cab. (on the lift, worth 150k disassembled), Porsche 368B, 300SL roadster, and in the back of the SL a 1958 219 (he's owned since new). What you don't see is both Gullwings which are in the garaged attached to his house.

Someday I want a garage like that. I'm getting closer, but even then I think I'm still 15 years away. Wow.

All we lack is a time machine to go back to the less than 10k days for a good gullwing or whatever. A friend of mine took less for his.

Somewhere around 1967, I remember seeing Gullwings in the classified section that Road & Track used to run for the $6-7K level, which was about the same as an upper-line Caddy at the time. Somehow the parity isn't the same any more....

Can someone get that gullwing off the salt

Wonderful collection in that garage. I'd love to have something like it one of these days. I'd love a 600 for sure, then we will see what else from there.

I chipped roughly 50 lbs of salt off the car after the last speed week. Don;t worry I have cleaned off all the salt and neutralized any surface rust that had started.

Thats good, I've heard horror stories about the salt there, and I woudl be especially scared with a car like that.

Fitch must have some interesting stories to tell. I am sure it's going to beat most people in the room when you can start a conversation with:

...so I was gunning down a Meschershmitt ME262

...so I was going 165mph in a Gullwing on the Bonneville Salt Flats
