Quick question, hoses on carbed M110

Hello,

Quick question:

What are the hoses that run along the right side of the engine bay (RIGHT next to fender) (on the carb side)

They seem to be made of a woven cloth, all three are torn wide open, I am wondering what they are for....

Thanks!

It sounds like they go to a charcoal canister used as a fuel vapor recovery system if one of those goes to the air horn on the carburetor. I would need a pic to be sure, but US emissions required this as early as 1970 and in some states as early as 1967 to comply with the clean air act. If I'm right, then these hoses left wide open will let the engine inhale dirt and dust into the air horn and fuel tank and should be replaced!

Yes. If the vehicle is "Show quality" and you want to keep it original in appearance, Phil can get you braided line. I believe you can order it from the "Buy Parts" link, but I'm not sure which is which and dont feel like checking .

Sure, rubber or viton will work just fine and not cost a lot of money! If you are concerned with the appearance in your motor bay, then you can use the original braided cloth. Making this repair will IMPROVE your fuel economy and will be well worth the effort.
