Need Help M110! too much fuel pressure problem...

77 280E M110 Fuel Injection

This car will not start. It tries to start but the plugs are soaked with gas. Checked Fuel pressure. Have 110psi about 7.5 bar. Thats too much???!!!!

Where should I start looking????

there is a control pressure regulator mounted on the side of the block under the intake runner for #6[close to firewall on drivers side].probably full of crap which has hardened.clean it out because it regulates the pressure on the piston at the top of the fuel distributor.

I've cleaned that. I've checked the lines going to it. I've checked the little piston in the fuel distributor, its free. I've checked the lines going to and from the tank. I'm not sure where to go from here.

if you dont want to throw parts at it you will need to hook up a special gauge to the fuel inj between the top of the fuel distrib and the control pressure reg that should tell the story.

What should be the spec going into the top of the distributor? I can check that, but what does it tell me? bad control pressure regulator??? what is the fuel damper under the center of the intake and what purpose does it serve vs. the control pressure regulator??? is that something I should be concerned with as well. As you can tell, I'm not an expert on these old things.

I've been checking pressure from inbound line from the tank to the distributor. It is 95 psi....6.5 bar.
