Thinking of buying...
A local 280SE 4.5 is for sale. I wish I brought my digital camera with me yesterday so I could take pics. I figured there'd be no point, it'd probably be a huge rustbucket...
Well, it needs 2 front fenders (the existing ones are beyond shot), and it has holes at the rocker panels that the PO (now deceased) filled in with that foam stuff. But the floors are all solid (save the trunk wells, very minor) and I can even jack the car up by the jack points! The interior is in amazing condition. The car wouldn't run (fuel pump frozen, but it had a spark). It sounded a lot more docile while cranking than my 4.5 does. But no matter, I have a good engine in my 4.5 and I really think it'd run fine with just the fuel pump. I wouldnt know what to name the car - The Jolly Green Giant or The Hulk. This is one hell of a unique vehicle. It's two-tone (forgot to check the color codes to see if that was stock or not). The top was a navy blue (or perhaps black), the body (and interior) were a light green. I've never seen such a color combo on a 108 before. I'm going to assume the code is 860 for the paint. Seller wants $1200, I am thinking of offering $700 or so...

That light green might be the color called 'teal'. The coupes thread shows the same 2 tone color combo. Not running, I betcha it can be bought for $800.
