6.9 parts car, dismantle or not?

I have access to a euro silver/blue 6.9 parts car minus the engine. The problem is that no space is available to dismantle it. Is it worth it to remove the suspension components, diff and whatever else is on the car for $400?

Does anyone in the LA area have space?

Al needs a complete suspension system.

The parts are resellable. If they are in good shape, you might break even selling them piecemeal. Only guys I know who'd buy the whole set would be me or Al.

CTH, I wouldn't mind having the suspension pulled if you or Al would be interested in it. I didn't know Al needed a whole setup but if he can verify that, I would be able to pull this off. I was going to keep the parts as spares but it is just a lot of logistics to have it pulled. I haven't seen the car in person but I do have images of it.

It just seems like a waste of decent parts that will get mutilated at the yards by the vultures and then crushed.

It has the rear end but the transmission will be separated some time later and available "minus the bellhousing" whatever that means.

you can't separate the bellhousing from the transmission, as it also houses the front pump. The person doing that needs to be kicked in the shins.

I also need decent rear quarter panels, but any W116 car w/o rust can supply those.

If Al won't take the whole suspension, I will, presuming the price is right.

If the rear end is solid, that worth something since you can't find any new ones at all.

I know where there is a parts 6.9 but my problem would be moving and storing it with suspension collapsed. Wouldbe difficult to suck up on my trailer in that condition.

That is a concern with this car. I hope they do not depressurize the suspension before the engine comes out. Towing would be a issue, even on a flatbed. I am to call the owner today and we'll see how it goes.

But that's what hydraulic jacks are for....BIG hydraulic jacks in this case.

Finding a set of blocks is the next order of business.
