1.5 million Euro AMG Classic?

I know this is not exactly a vintage Mercedes, but this thing looks like an instant classic. Anybody ever seen one of these before?? They only made 25 in 1998-1999, according to the ad, and it looks like this is one of the 5 Targas. 631 HP V12 engine. wow! Love to have that as a daily driver.

English is here:

Happy motoring!

In order to race these on the European circuit, MB had to commit to making at least 25 per year - so that's exactly what they did. Top Gear did a review of one a while back - extremely uncomfortable to get in and out of, etc. But one hell of a racecar!

They're not that hard to get in and out of - maybe they forgot to take off the steering wheel?

Nahh, you wouldn't one of these as a daily driver. They sit too low to go through the drive-thru windows. You'd always have to stand up to give the cashier the money.

Isn't that the same car a dealer bought and couldn't get factory support to even get it 1 mile down the street before overheating? In the end the factory said thanks, give me a 300SL gullwing any day.

I bet that you would need to do at least 100mph to keep the air flow for cooling

For the asking price of $2,120,000 you could buy 7 SLR's with change left over on ebay and the SLR has a higher top speed.....

Here's a story on the lawsuit. Engine died prematurely due to oil starvation and MB/ AMG doesn't want to deal with it...
