220b steering issues
well i have recently purchased a1965 220b, and am going through the list of major issues it has. first on my list seemsto be its steering. it does turn, but there is alot of looseness(not a real word i dont think) in the system, and its very unresponsive(feels like it might not turn at all)
im not sure if anybody has ideas on what parts to check out first, and in addition a good place to find parts for this old beast. its also a very tough start--i think this is actually a fuel pressure problem but more on that later thankjs for your help |

the steering sounds like the king pins are frozen. and perhaps a lotof loose tie rods etc. you will just have to start by jacking up the car and wiggling everything. the king pins may be able to loosten if it is just dried grease by using a little heat and starting by putting a little penetrating oil in the grease gun and getting it in there and start getting things loostened up a bit then working the steering wheel from one side to the other til it begins to free itself.
good luck tom w
