Help with part name/number?
Hey:
So...in my quest to figure out what's making the noise in my rear end, I've managed to destroy a part of my parking brake which Chilton's calls the "expansion lock." It's the little pivot that spreads out the shoes against the drum when the emergency brake is engaged...the cable attaches to it through the back of the brake plate. Does anybody know another term for this part? Even better, does anybody know the part number? Thanks, everybody.

I believe the part you are looking for is a 115 420 11 89 emergency brake support. It was also called a lever, a connector, a shackle and was available in a discontinued kit (114 586 01 42) called a turnbuckle. The pin that attaches it to the cable is 108 427 00 74.
Check my numbers before ordering. |

If you can't find the item new, drop me a PM. I'm in the process of gutting out a '69 W115. I can grab the part from it before I turn the car into beer cans.
