108 Exhaust Manifold

Hello Everyone!,

I was looking to replace the exhaust on my 1968 280SE (L6), its blowing quite badly and sounds like your doing about 130MPH when you are doing 60, i looked over the system for a specific leak and found (to my horror) the exhaust manifold has been welded up, i assume due to a stripped thread or a broken flange. Anyway, i am looking to replace the manifold (rear) does anyone know of a source, either a breakers yard or anyone scrapping a 108, im in Long Beach, California.

Thanks Guys,

Steve

give these guys a call. they're just outside of Ventura. they sourced me an exhaust manifold for my W116 4.5L.

their website isn't all that great, but they were very helpful over the phone and i received the correct part on the first try.

Why not just take it to a welding shop and have the weld redone or fixed? People have manifolds welded all the time when doing custom jobs. Then again, you may be able to find a new-used one for the price of having yours fixed. I would think it would be an easy fix for a welder though.

Thanks
David
