Can I borrow $142,000 from someone to buy a 6.3?
Wow, and that makes 99.7% of cars on the road a bargain!

It has 16,500 miles on it and "all mechanical components were refurbished" -??
Too bad someone didn't actually DRIVE it. that would have been better for it! |

Well, I liked the daughter's ad a lot better. Why, in her pics, is the suspension sitting so low? It looks as if the rear suspension colapsed, or something..Kinda funky looking.

You'd think for that price they could take some decent pics. Lots of American muscle cars are now in that price range and it takes much less money to restore those.

A *really* good 600 would go for that price. The "on drugs" label fits pretty well.

If the guy and car are in NY, why does it have PA license plates?? Has anyone checked his references listed in the ad copy?

I pay 142k for my Freightliners with everything in them, brand new. They make their money back, in three, to four months, and pay themselves off.

I thought MB Classic was looking at this for their collection? Current seller 'Hamptonsman' did some posting over at the m-100.cc board... |

I seem to recall someone checked it out last time and there might have been issues with the paint fading or something like that. Also, I doubt cosmoline would stay on it if it was driven 2000 miles cross country.
AND not to mention the appraisal was obviously bogus or why else would it have not been snapped up at this bargain price? Doing a timing chain at 16k miles shows me the owner was an idiot and the shop that did it is crooked. Ditto the fuel system components that were replaced/rebuilt, unless bad gas sat in them for a long time and it got gummed up, which means this ain't no $125k car. Plus, isn't that a splotch on the intake manifold? Deduct 25k for that..... Someone posted a question on EBay - why did you need to spend 50k on such a low mileage car and the answer was they didn't trust the tires and they wanted the car back to new spec. My 6.3 has 120k and I could get it back to new and have 25k left over. A complete suspension job by an honest shop is less than 5k. Hmm, the ad said all components were REPLACED, maybe the shop now has a bunch of spares, better check their Ebay listings. I think I see the pattern..... What is that extra mileage number in the speedo pic?????? It says 16152 below the 16723 number.

Numbers taped on the speedo were from the original owner - oil change reminder, I guess.
