High Idle M116 W108
Hello from London, where true to stereotype it's absolutely chucking it down.
My w108 280se 3.5 seems to have a high idle in Park & Neutral. I haven't been able to accurately check the speed, but in gear the idle seems a 'normal' speed but when put into P or N increases significantly. Is this normal? I've tried lowering the idle speed with the air screw, but this just ends up with the warm in-gear idle being too low and the engine stalling.

You sure that:
1) Your throttle plate is closing COMPLETELY on idle? 2) Your throttle position sensor is functioning correctly? it sounds like you aren't hitting "idle mixture" and that is the most likely cause of a high idle in park or neutral.
