Part number for differential axle clips?

Hi, all:

Well, thanks to forum member Jim H., I now have a replacement differential for my '68 220, and hope to swap it out this weekend.

In doing some research, I found that the axles are held to the diff with a pair of little circlips located between the gears. Does anybody know the proper name (and if possible, the part number) for these little lovelies?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to gettin' the Benz back on the road.

They should be # 115 994 04 34

Why do you need them, they last forever...

The manual says to replace them when changing out axles, so I figured if they're readily available, I might as well get a new set.

Thanks for the responses!

I replaced mine, but I think I was the only one. The dealer had the part the next day, but I am metro NY, close to the warehouse in NJ.

They are very likely almost identical to the ones in the 123's and are very reluctant to release when you are trying to get them out and just as tough to get back on at the end of the job. I didn't replace mine and doubt that you will need to either.

I use snap ring pliers (just one side) to pull the ring out and needle nosed vicegrips to get it back in. I can't imagine why one would need to replace an undamaged clip...
