|
1975 450SL with gas smell
When I start up my 1975 450SL, I get a very bad gass / exhaust smell. It' snot leaking gas .. but more of a carb .. or engion gas smell. I am planning on replacing the hood pad (as mine has seen better days) and hope this will help.
Any other suggestions?

What is the condition of the plastic cover in that sits over the blower fan at the bulkhead under the hood. If its cracked or not sealed properly it can suck in air from under the hood rather than the vent in front of the windshield.Is the smell worse with the blower on ?
