'76 300D 115 electrical issue

Hello everyone,

I recently started having an electrical problem, and wondered if anyone had any ideas as to how to fix it. The old Becker Europa radio didn't work, so I pulled it out. Tried to hook up another CD player, but couldn't make that work either. That's not really my major concern though. After disconnecting the thing, I noticed that if I pressed the hazard light switch it blows fuse#1. The turn signals also don't work now, but the wipers do. I took the doghouse off the center console and identified what wires were there. Finally, when I plug the hazard switch back into its wiring harness, the little lightbulb on the A/C control stays on even if the key is out of the ignition and the car is off. Also, there are 2 wires besides the ones for the speakers and stuff. One is a black wire which leads off under the firewall that I can't trace, also there is a brown wire coming from the back of the cigar lighter that I assume is a ground. The cigar lighter works when the key is turned to accessory II. Also, the a/c blower has stopped working since all these problems arose. Please Help! I don't want to take the car to a MB dealer, That would probably cost a fortune.

sounds like a ground issue I have had a bare wire on a light switch once that caused all sorts of issues. Start back where the issue started, what did you move/remove and check to make sure you did not bare a wire or such
