Zenith idle venting valves rebuild kit w111
Hello,
First off, I'd like to thank everyone here, this forum has been so helpful for me especially with regards to good information about the Zenith carbs on my 67 230S fintail. My question concerns the idle venting valves which have developed leaks on both the front and back carbs. Are these rebuildable? Having never taken apart or rebuilt the carbs, do the kits from Rusty include the necessary parts for these valves? I have the unisyn & adapters from baum tools. ___ /<>/>/> 1967 230S automatic Boston, MA Last edited by todds; 07-03-2007 at 03:09 PM. |

The vent valves? The little spring loaded valve that acts as a stop for the throttle lever? That shouldn't leak ever, since it's higher than the fuel level in the carb (or your car is on its side).
Or did you mean a different valve? -CTH |

Thanks cth,
Yeah that's the same little valve I meant. The linkage comes to rest against them at idle and they change the venting of the bowl. For some reason mine has gas all over it, perhaps the source of the leak is elsewhere and it's just accumulating on the vent valves for whatever reason. I'll investigate further and post a picture.
