How to use climate control in 250?

I am looking at a 1972 250 local to me. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how the climate control system works? I could not figure out how to turn anything on - I want to see if the AC works.

Twist the green knob thats AC, blue knob in center of sliders is fan. Oughta be an audible movement of vacuum controled solenoid flaps under dash if AC controls work.

I'll give that a shot when I head back. I think I may have tried that, but there's so much to look at the first time you check out a car.

You have to turn the knob kind of hard to activate the vacuum control - it will stop and then with a little pressure it will turn a little further. I have a '72 250 owner's manual if you buy the car - be glad to make a copy of it for you.

Thanks for all your help. The AC did not work, but it was obvious the knob was broken. I was going to go pick up the car anyway, but the passenger door glass was busted out. I guess the search continues...
