I'm experiencing this buzzing mechanical sound from inside my distributor. It goes away when I apply pressure on the sides of the distributor itself or, when I loosen the screw that holds the distributor in place.
Tried dripping ATF in the shaft (underneath the rotor, and it went away for a while. Want to know your thoughts before I add more oil. Thanks. |

It sounds like the distributor is worn. Take it out and see if it has a lot of play in it side-to-side. Don't worry, it only goes in one way since the drive piece is offset.

bUZZING dISTRIBUTOR.
There is a bit of play, but not so much it affects performance. Other than the buzzing sound, I didn't notice anything else. Are there maintenance parts inside this thing? Bushings? O-rings?
