Wow, check out this clean 250C for sale

Stumbled across this auction on another BBS, not mine and I don't know who's it is, but it's mighty clean, that's for sure!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Amazing-20-000-mile-1970-MB-250C-coupe-from-Hyman-Ltd_W0QQitemZ160144438029QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6329QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'd love to find some bumpers like that to replace my huge '74 280C bumpers, makes it look so much nicer.

Very nice indeed as it should be at that price.

But why would they put the wrong muffler on it? It should have dual tips.

The brake booster line is wrong, as is the giant inline fuel filter.

The giant inline fuel filter is like the ones I've added to my '72 250 and 250C, only mine is in the line before the pump, down below the battery, where it's far less noticeable.

My 250C is in Virginia Beach, but I'll be able to check it next week. Meanwhile, the vacuum booster line looks identical to the one in my '72 250 sedan.
Should the line be different on a '70?

Reason for the single tailpipe is that by 10 - 15 years ago, aftermarket exhaust suppliers no longer stocked the OE dual setup. When I replaced the exhaust on my '72 250 in '96, the Bosal replacement system had dual-pipes to the resonator but a single pipe from there through the muffler. I think the complete Bosal system cost under $200 and I sure wasn't going to pay several hundred more for a factory exhaust from the dealer.

My 250C still has the OE dual system, but the muffler is pretty rotten. Who sells the OE exhaust today and what should I expect to pay?

Happy Motoring, Mark

$9,900 with 21 hours to go. Do you think I'll get it for $11,000?
