Are some of the old factory service manuals out of print? I cannot find one for the 114. If there is one up for grabs, I need it! I'd even do a borrow if anyone would let me!
I do have a service manual for 108-109-111-113 starting 1968
maintenance, tuning, unit replacement..
it's similar in alot of ways, but I want the real book for my 1969 250.
So...maybe someone can use this 280 book?
Anyone know where I can get the w114-115 book???

Boy oh boy, have I been looking for a 72-80 SL manual for a long time now.

I have a Mercedes 350SE that I have to do some work on. That SL manual would be a perfect fit since the engine is the exact same one.

Let me know, I'd be happy to pay for it since this would be a valuable asset for me.

74 & 76 240d

I can use any of the manuals listed below and will gladly pay or trade something, do you need anything for the 83 300d? I can send it with a ups label.
You might want to check the last one on the list below, sometimes I see the first 123's (which your 83 300d is) listed as starting in 76 although it was a 1977 model year car and if so the most of the descriptions will work although your car is a turbo and the early 300's were natural.
Thanks,
Brian

Christy, There's a half-decent CD available from mercedes for about 30$. Call 1-800-for-merc.

The paper manual will cover all the body stuff, but you will be hard pressed to find a decent engine manual. The engine data is in three different paperbacks (or that one CD).

Steve, The engine manual for your car is the "3.5 4.5 cast iron block" manual that covers the se, sel and sl cars. The 116 body manual is separate from the engine.

Yeah..
I did end up going to MBusa...I was surprised to find the cd-rom for my car for only $19.99! Whatta deal!
I know I owned a cd at one time or another, but....it seems to have disappeared, as has some of the body of my car over the years! Yikes!

Well, the engine is actually out of my car and in my garage...I guess we might find out what is wrong with that engine after all...(the emphasis on MIGHT).

First off, MAJOR kudos to John for making these books available - thanks!

I received two of them, unfortunately neither is quite a match for my 1972 280SE 4.5. Christy, I wish I could offer to do a direct swap for your maintenance, turning, unit replacement (M/T/UR) book - sounds like exactly what I need. What I have to offer in trade is either:

The M/T/UR book for August 1959 to December 1967 for models 190c, 190dc, 200, 200D, 220b ( woulda been perfect for me first Merc), 220SB, 220SEb, 230, 230S, 230SL, 250S, 250SE, 250SL, 300SE, 300SEb, and 300SEL, or

The Body and Chassis service manual for 114 & 115 series cars starting 1968.

I'll make these available under the same terms John offered them up (take 'em if you need 'em and promise to pay me back for shipping at some point) right AFTER I find out if Christy is willing to trade .

Jim

that 114/115 book is what Christy needs. Her car is 1969 250/8.
As I recall the shop's diagnosis, that motor needs a camshaft.
Anybody have an M114 camshaft handy? An M130 cam would work if the towers and rockers come with it. -CTH

Anything you have applicable to a 1974 450 sl would be MOST appreciated - and shipping/handling gladly paid for.
