Doesn't the w114/w115 have the handbrake cable running under the passenger side and out under the car?

I'd look into POR-15 instead of undercoating to paint the floorboards. The stuff is really high quality, it basically seals in any rust you miss with a wire brush. Entombs it to prevent spread.

I think it'd be more effective than undercoating.

Check the rubber A/C drain tubes going down both sides of the console.

I remember once driving through Memphis in August (100 degrees and 100% humidity) and my sons informed me they were sitting in a lake. The water would run down the heater vent work and just flood the rear floorboards. I'm talking about an inch deep! Had to pull the drain plugs and drive the next 500 miles with damp smelly carpet. Mmmmmm, boy!

UPDATE....My AC condenser is dripping (underneath) the car as I suspect it should be. But on non rainy days w/ 100% humidity I still get water in the driver and front passenger floor pans. Due to the heavy rains we have had in S Texas recently, I have had to completely remove the carpet and keep it out. I have only rubber floor mats down. I did discover the source of several points of entry with the help of other members....
1. vacuum line boots inside the door jams...stuffed w/ rags...may consider foam filling
2. front windshield seal is bad...sealed it from the outside...still leaks but not that much...might try sealing from the inside.
3. current leak...source is not rain...98% sure it is AC related...AC drains may be slightly clogged...still see drip from underneath when AC is on...
As soon as I resolve #3...I will post here.
Thanks for everyones input...I no longer need to wear swim trunks in my car!!

Update #2....
I removed the black plastic that flanks the center console...and located 2 drain stems from the AC...these drain stems were missing the drain tubes and the rubber grommets around the hole in the body. I bought 2 six inch pieces of 3/8" fuel line and pushed them over the drain stem. Then I used foam filler to fill the holes (around the drain tube). I know some may frown on the use of foam fill, but because of the confined space I had to work with and the fact it is unseen...I figured foam fill was an easy fix. I also used foam fill (in the rotted boots) for the vacuum lines in the front doors. Much better looking than the rags (and the rags would need to be rung out during heavy rains).
