64 220SEb--Fuel Injector Hose Filters?

I am in the process of changing the rubber hoses to the fuel injection pump on my 64 220SEb, to improve some driveability issues. Are the two canisters depicted in the photos some kind of filters, and if so, are they supposed to be replaced, or is this just a jury-rigged set-up from the previous owner?

This is a pictures of one of the existing hoses I intend to replace:

The two items pictured are perfectly normal and should be there. What you have pictured is the vacuum supply line for the brake booster. The smaller bit is a one way check valve and the other is a vessel is to catch any wayward brake fluid before it enters the intake. Contact MB Classic to find the lines you want to replace.

This may seem like a dumb question, but are the hoses unique to MB or can a local auto parts house furnish a comparable product that I can cut to the appropriate lengths as I go along.

be very careful with the check valve and moisture trap as they unobtainable now. But, yes any metric size hose is fine.those are only vacuum lines to the booster.

Be very careful with the injection system. Do not adjust the linkage stops on the throttle body or injection pump. they are adjusted at the factory. It's important the keep dirt from the injection pipes and pump. Make sure there is enough oil in the pump, there is a small screw-in dipstick on the rear of the injection pump.

Visit the M100 forum, http://www.m-100.cc/forum/default.asp, for general injection pump, fuel pump and fuel system info.

The W113 Sl forum also has LOTS of good FI info.

Also, check the russian site for parts:

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb1.asp?TP=1&F=111014&VIN=

Injection pump:

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=111014&M=127%2E982&CT=M&cat=233&SID=07&SGR=001&SGN=01

check part 29 for the dipstick.
