W116 450SEL manual conversion

Hello dedicated brethren, I have a quest for you...

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any manual gearboxes available for the W116 450SEL... i am planning to commit sacrilege to another of my fine German auto's... here goes:
Start with one 1977 Mercedes 450SEL with all the bla bla they come with...
find a strong manual transmission for it
hang a turbo off each bank
lock the rear end
hold on for dear life

thats the idea, and I've found a thread for upgrading the fuel injection system (http://www.hitechengineering.net/DNN/MegaSquirted450slc/tabid/54/Default.aspx) so it can actually run...

What d'yall think??? This may mean that my other little project is put on a back burner, but its for a good cause, coz this'll end up being my daily.

On a sad note, I've decided to part with my beloved 1974 450SE

Kip Foss has a stick setup for sale here. He has had it for a while and the asking price seems pretty reasonable. Shipping down under may be a bit dear though.

It all sounds fun, but I would suggest caution about locking the diff totally. I have done that on my dedicated autocross car and regret it. For a car driven on the street I think you will tire of it very very quickly.

It is fun to lay two patches of rubber though!

6.9's have LSD's and I'm pretty sure that the rear axles from an early W126 are the same as the W116's. There is a company in Australia that offers twin turbo conversions and manual transmission conversions for the M117 / M100 crowd.

I had a look at that website (http://www.big-toys.net/merc.html found buried in another thread), but the contact page isn't working, unless you're thinking of someone else? do you have the web address perhaps?

Is the rear end ratio for the 6.9 the same as the 450SEL?

How fast was the 350SE 4 speed manual? Was it significantly faster than the 350SE automatic and or the 450SE/L?

I believe the rear end of the 6.9 to be different ratio, the whole rear end sits on air rather than oil, so why would they not make it completely different. Mercedes didn't worry too much about costs back in the day (which is also why the Mercs were expensive)

The 6.9 has hydraulic struts but can be converted. The ratio is different but it can be used.
