Question on door seals
Replaced door seals, but doors do not shut the same. They require a bit more force to close. What adjustment do I need to make to get it back to normal?

Slam the door a bit harder . . . . :D

I replaced mine two months ago. They to were harder to shut after the new ones were put on but now it is much easier to close the door. It's still a tigher fit. I believe that it just takes a little time for the seals adjust to the door. Don't forget the old seals were old, therefore a loose fit. Now you have a nice tight seal.

I was going to say that, too. Unfortunately, I'm such a smart ass that I couldn't resist making the comment I made. I suspect any rubber parts will fit tighter at first when you have replaced ones that have been compressed over a period of time.

Lube rubber seals with Sil-Glide from NAPA , or Gummi-Pflege from Wurth and they will be easier to shut and last longer also.
And yes, those are really names of products used on cars! best josef |
I went through three different sets from three different vendors before I bit the bullet for OEM seals that fit perfectly. The other ones were too thick and I was unable to put the metal trim piece on the leading edge of the front doors and they were so tight that when I went to open the door it popped open. Again...once I put in OEM seals at full price but with help from Roy they worked great.
