1968 200Diesel need clutch cylinders
I'm bringing this white 68 back to life after 14 years off the road and where there should be a functioning clutch system there is only rust and rotting rubber. Anywhoo I'm aiming to sell it eventually, preferably as a driver instead of a downhill coaster, although if you are at the top of some volcano and just want to be prepared for that eventuality this could be the perfect car for you as is.
If anyone has the cylinders or a good source that would be appreciated. The internet sources i found did not even list the 200D in 68 or they did not have the cylinders available. I'm also interested in the rubber floor insulation for other projects. I've got a fairly loud vanagon diesel at the moment. Also drop me a line if you're looking for a 200diesel, little rusty he he, thanks, Mike mcarter@veggieboys.com south Texas |

Good Luck!
Hi Mike
I am doing just the same with a 1971 230.6 petrol. I couldn't source parts and ended up buying the whole equipment from Mercedes but the price wasn't too bad: Complete clutch kit, spigot bearing, slave cylinder and flexihose came to £300 (say $600) which compares well with UK prices for new parts of a present-day Ford or something. Hope the resto goes well. I'd like to see some photos! Andrew |
