79 450SEL 6.9 TIming Chain Tensioner Part

I had my chain and tensioner replaced around this time last year and since, the car has had a pretty awful leak. Enough to get through a quart of oil every couple of days.

Recently I ordered a replacement tensioner from the dealer and a new seal ring and today we took the old tensioner off and replaced it. The tensioner came with a new gasket and that's about it.

The followed the steps in the manual and took the tensioner apart. It seems that I am missing a part. This is called the threaded ring in the manual and could be the reason for the leak.

It must have taken some serious effort to seal the leak the last time because with everything refitted using using the steps defined in the manual and the right torque setting, this tensioner gushes oil. It literally squirts out of the plate that holds the tensioner in and onto the manifold.

The part in question is the fourth item from the left. I called the dealership and the classic center and they informed me that this part is no longer available.

Does anyone know if there is a substitute (from an M117 etc?) or of a 6.9 that is being parted?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

How come? It seems all parts from the tensioner 1000500511 is available, excepr for the copper o-ring,pressure pin and housing (I assume the 100XXXnuber is the whole assembly...)
I might be wrong, but the fourth item(left to right or vice-versa) on the pic should be 95L on the scheme:screw collar ,A1000520068 .......13.70$

...sometimes a listed "non-available part" could be ordered by the production number alone and not via the EPC diagrams,as it happened with my motor mounts ...strange...

Thanks for the lead, I checked with a couple of dealers here and again after I got your mail. I also checked with the classic center in Irvine CA and they also listed it as a discontinued part. I sent an Email to Tom Hansen at the classic center and referenced the oldtimer site that you send me. Hopefully I should get a result, I'll also try calling them myself on Monday.
