Stupid Sunroof Question

Concerning the adjustment of the front height of manual or electric sunroofs on 114/115 & 123 cars: After the adjustment, we tighten the sheet metal screws that hold down the top rail and then the front machine screw. Should this screw be tightened as far down as possible or just to contacting the rail? It seems that tightening it all the way down will bend the rail.

If I remember correctly, you just play around with those until you have the height where you want it. Then you tighten down the other screws to hold it there. The back adjustment seemed to be the hardest one to get right for me.
