1978 450 SL electrical problem
I keep having trouble keeping a charge. I just replaced the battery last month, as well as the alternator last summer.
What else might be causing the problem? Is there a voltage regulator that could be bad? Thanks, Don Solomon Durango, CO USA |

Get an ammeter, a DVM or a VOM, with an amperage scale and settings. Remove each fuse and clip the leads onto the fuse contacts, the one in the box not the fuse itself. Check for current flow, adjust the scale by starting high and going lower. Find one that his a high quiescent current flow and that's the circuit. Check each load, it could be something as simple as the light in the trunk stays on.
