W114 250CE update/issues

Hello, I have the opportunity to buy cheap a 250CE that needs work, car is UK model with electronic injection... for those of you who saw/replied to my thread a few weeks back, I managed to get her started and running but having sat unused for 6 years it has some issues of course- the oil pressure gauge shows no movement when i ran the engine briefly- do you think the oil pump may have failed?
Also the accelerator/gas pedal is rusted right through at the bottom and not attached to the floor pan which was slightly worrying when it came off in my hand... there's some other corrosion under the car but none looks really major... starting to wonder if the car is worth restoring or too much hassle for the price the seller wants (around $1500)
The rest of the car is in good condition overall, body & paintwork is sound for the most part.

Don't be shy, beat him down in price. These cars really rust so take a hard look at the floor, boot floor, sills, wheel arches and pillars.

Also look at the inner wings (from top to bottom) and boot lid and it's not so available in the UK. If the oil pressure gauge is showing no movement, check to see if oil is flowing to the top of the camshafts or connect an oil pressure gauge directly to the engine. Does it not show any movement even when you rev the engine? That would make me concerned.

Hi alabbasi, oil pressure gauge showed no movement at all through the time Ihad the engine running, though it looked from opening the oil filler than oil was flowing to the camshafts so i let it run a bit. The radiator isn't in the best condition and the oil cooler looks like it might be leaking a wee bit, plus one of the rear windows is off it's guide... lots of minor niggles really but I'm thinking maybe ones that could quickly add up in expensive niggles...

Yep, they will, but what a great car. I have mine still in England, it's been sitting for years and years but ran when I parked it in 1999.

It was a very pretty car, but now.... not so much.
