stupid question....from newbie
I am babysitting my buddy's 280 SE, 1969, while he travels and I can't get a hold of him to ask the following stupid question. where is the fuel door on this car? am I blind, I have looked all over and can't seem to find it. is it in the engine somewhere? sorry in advance for the stupid question.

Well, on a 1968 there is a door to the right of the rear license plate. Try there. If not, see if the license plate pulls down to reveal the fuel pipe.

thank you...I looked at both of those places...I damn near pulled the license plate off trying to get it to move.....I feel like that is the only place it could be, but the thing won't budge. I feel like a total moron.

It is behind the rear license plate...

I'm not 100 percent certain if 108s came with the central locking system, but your gas door may be locked...

They did; the '72 280SE (108.018) I'm working on has central locking, including the gas door.
