The finnie was bad enough. But that Adenauer. Ouch!!!

t walgamuth 08-23-2008 04:18 AM

Too bad, I bet they will make great parts cars!

Its hard to imagine leaving those two sitting outside. Maybe they wanted the insurance money!

Yeah, that neighborhood looks exactly like the kind of place I'd expect to find "restored" classic Mercedes

There's got to be more to this story!

thorsen 08-23-2008 07:38 AM

"The owner tells us he was about to sell this thing for a hefty amount of money..."

POS 08-23-2008 08:53 AM

The insurance needs to check the condition of the owner's chainsaw - used recently? I live in hurricane territory (Houston), and when a big storm is approaching I always make sure the cars are safe somewhere. Cripes, an empty mall parking garage is safer than on your street under large oaks during a large storm. Why did the idiot leave them on the street?

TheDon 08-23-2008 08:53 AM

reason why I put my good car in the garage

halman2228 08-23-2008 09:24 AM

I smell fish...

A restored Adenauer on the street? In that neighborhood?

:bsflag:

Kevin

I've had several cars I considered putting in harms way in order to collect the insurance. Thankfully they were only passing thoughts. Amazing what the mind can conceive and what having ethics/morals values can overcome. Some people just don't the have ethical/moral values to override those devious thought crimes.

Just goes to show you anyone can buy a car. Anyone can also destroy a classic. Sorta reminds you of what you think when you find a nice classic and look at how someone has treated it. I mean how does someone tear up a seat that you sit in?? AND AS FOR PARKING CARS IN THE STORMS ON THE STREET THEY NEED TO BE SHOT.

79Mercy 08-23-2008 02:22 PM

yeah its not the safest side of town, good thing I live in the opposite side.

Lexxani 08-24-2008 06:09 PM

DAAAAAAAAMMMMNNNN. . .If I didnt have a garage to keep the SL-C in (and provided it was operable) I would have put it in the OIA parking structure to protect it. $17/day is cheap insurance by my book.

Thoes cars, even unrestored are a true gem. .

It looks as if Mercy is gonna need to keep his eyes open when in the junk yard, theres gotta be a few rare parts left on thoes cars.

I bet the 'hoods' have already snagged all the stars. . .

:(

Do you dare think of the "f" word in this case?

F...f....f.... FRAUD!:P

What's the odds, two rare MBs, parked conveniently under two giant oaks trees. I've never been to Jacksonville, so I don't know much about that neighborhood, but I have seen some car restoration places in some "questionable" areas of town, like near industries and such. Eh, don't worry, industrial fallout gives fresh Glasurit an extra shine!

My god man, don't EVER say stuff like this.....

If you ever did it, evidence like this would haunt you.

I think you missed my point. Those that don't have ethical character would act upon those thoughts. Those that do posses ethics merely dismiss those thoughts and move on. I think I made it quite clear what side of the road I stand on.

Passing thoughts are not evidence of any wrong doing. If they were, we would all be convicted of some imaginary crime.
