Power steering

I have a 1969 280 SL

The power steering works when I turn the wheel to the right, but not when I turn to the left.

Can you please offer some help on this issue?

My email address is:

ja_parisi@yahoo.com if you prefer to email me.

Thanks in advance.

The power steering box has a three-way control valve that applies fluid assist pressure when you begin to turn the wheel. Most likely there's a bad seal - usually a broken O-ring - that's preventing the assist from working in one direction. There's a repair/reseal kit availible for these but you'll need to remove and dissassemble the steering box.

Happy Motoring, Mark
