A Vintage Web Site - Opinions Please?

Team -

I had a good time fooling around with the Yahoo PageBuilder yesterday. It struck me that it would add more interest to this forum if we had a web page to post pictures of our cars - I was thinking of a Geocities page.

The 300SE crowd at mercedes-veterans is doing this.

I would be willing to do the initial setup like pictures of the cars and a 2-3 line description of each. Then we could publish the ID and password and everyone could add their own updates.

Might we also be so bold as to do a page with pictures of ourselves so we have a better idea of whom we are corresponding with? Or should we remain anonymous?

Flame away!

Chuck

I think it's a great idea! I want to show my collection of non-running Mercedes too. Just got a Sony Mavica and ready to shoot. Also, I would like to see what Bachlauter looks like!

vintage website and the Mavica

Sounds good to me also. I guess if we wanted a personal picture we could sit in/on/under the car in question.

Note to Chris:

You should like the Mavica a lot. One word of caution, if the diskette decides it doesn't want to come out (eject) - DO NOT PULL and force it out. Put it back in and try the eject again. If not successful, take it to a local camera repair shop and have them extract it. Two things have happened; either the metal slide plate on the diskette is jammed OR the sensor on the disk drive is caught on the diskette. If you FORCE it then when you take it to the camera repair shop the cost could be approximately $207.47 (if they have to replace the disk drive) or approximately $90.00 if you are lucky. (When was the last time you got lucky when it comes to spending dollars?).

Don't ask how I came up with those figures.

Dan

In the spirit of "if you build it they will come," I am going to put together a plan using one of the free web site services. If anyone has done this and has advice, post a reply or send me an e-mail

Stay tuned

Chuck
