D-jet mystery.
On my 75, 280SL their is a fuel pressure regulator on the inlet side of the FI and also on the outlet side on the return line to the fuel tank. I have four different sources of info on the D-jet including Bosch's "Yellow Book" and none mentions it. It is not a damper, it has a screw regulator. It appears to be factory original. Any one else run into this?? Any info appreciated.

Are you sure that it's a pressure regulator on the inlet? That sounds wrong.

I've never seen a D-Jet 107 6cyl, but it shows on the parts info. The devices are described just as the v8 units are. One is a pressure regulator (the one with 3 hose connections). The other is a diaphram (two hose connections).

Steve. Thanks for responding. What is the purpose of the second regulator??
I have section 7.4.2 of the 110 engine manual, which covers the D-jet, and their is no mention of it. The schematic diagram in the Bosch manual doesn't show it and there is, again, no mention. Was it something used on the Euro models ?? My manual is for US 280 models. I have Ben Watsons book on the D-jet and while there is a test for return volume it is taken from the pressure regulator. Could that be what it is for, to control return volume?? Again thanks for responding. |

The two hose gizmo is just a damper. -CTH

Yes, a dampener is just there for noise reduction caused by pump and injector resonance. It plays no part in fuel delivery.

D-Jet Mistery
This mystery is haunting me today, 2020. I have a 280SE D-Jet and the fuel circuit information is mismatched.

ortolani,
What is the information you're looking for, or need help with? The D-Jet system works the same on all engines it was installed on regardless of cylinders. It is possible, if you have D-Jet, that someone previously "Messed with" the system. Your injectors do have electrical plugs on each of them, right?

ah, the 280se is a 6 cylinder car, and the stuff published for the US is only for the 8 cylinder ones. The documentation for the M110 djet was only published in section 7.4 of the first copies of the M110 manual.
the electrical wiring diagram and the plumbing is the same as the 3.5 v8, except for how the trigger points and the injectors are set up. (or at least, I am fairly sure that the trottle position wiring matches the 3.5 rather than the 4.5 setup). -CTH |

D-Jet Mistery
Hi,
Our group friend, Charles Hart, helped me with the electrical connections coming out of the ECU. I checked is everything is ok! The mystery now lies in the fuel circuit, especially the fuel reail and where I should install the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pressure dumper. You would have the diagram of the fuel circuit, especially the rail part, where the injectors and the two valves are. Thansk so much, Ortolani |

D-Jet Mistery
Great Hart,
It was all I needed to understand the 25 outputs of the ECU. There is no need to send me the V8 manual, because what you sent me, even in German is intelligible. Greetings from Brazil! Thank you so much, Ortolani |

I scanned the electrical pages over 10 years ago and put the book in the garage. I will have to dig a bit to find it and scan the pictures of the part locations, presuming it even has them. -CTH
