220D W115 Grill

I am trying to find out if the front grill from a 1979 (W123 body style???) will fit on a 1973 220D W115 body style?

Not even close. Also, this is the late-model gasser tech forum. For future reference, a topic like this would go better in Vintage or Diesel Discussion.

Sorry Skippy, I just purchased my first MB and this was also my first posting. I am a newbie and I thought I had posted in the "Vintage" area.
I will take more care and try not to muddle things up.

Not a problem.

This site will help you get an idea of what models will interchange parts with each other:

You need a 68-73 W114/W115 grille.

There are several differences depending on year/model within this range, but they all fit.

The 74-76 style is wider.

As for the w123, not even close.
