Not in Scotland you won't ;)

Hi Colin

From my experience there are probably about a dozen W108s in scotland...period so I would build up too many hopes of getting one locally. There is a guy down south who specialises in breaking these and other earlier (and modern for that matter) Mercs. I've bought things like trim and small bits and pieces off him. He's ok if a little absent minded at times. I'm at work right now but I'm sure I have his e-mail address etc at home on the pc. I don't think it would be a big deal to get an axle shipped up from him via Palletways or equivalent. If you want his details give me a shout back.

cheers

J

I have a 4.5 w109 that I'm parting out if that would work for you, but I'm not sure how to cheaply ship something that large and heavy to you. If you have any ideas, by all means let me know.

How hard is that part to pull and how much would it cost to ship? The reason I ask is because I work at a junkyard and we have a W108 in the yard. I pulled some other parts off it for a member here. So far getting it shipped has been a headache (mailed it Saturday then had the post office kick it back to me because the box started leaking-repacked it so that any additional oil should be contained and will mail again tomorrow).

Not too hard to pull but a monster to ship. I had mine listed for months with no interest (until of course I chopped it up )
