I recently restored a 250S (W108) but I'm not happy with the way the original vinyl firewall pad turned out, and would like to reduce the noise coming from the engine compartment. I was thinking of using a material such as Dynaliner on the underside of the hood and firewall to provide sound deadening. I plan to then cover this material with a hoodliner and a new firewall pad. I have two questions: 1) Does anyone sell a new custom firewall pad with cutouts for the hoses, etc, and 2) Any advice on the most effective way to reduce noise coming from the engine compartment? I used RAAMmat on the rest of the car and was pleased with the results, but this material cannot be used in the engine compartment due to the higher tempertures. Your help would be greatly appreciated. George
