1972 250 Zenith Carb Part
I work as a parts man for a very highly skilled MB shop with original roots from Germany. Although I have many years experience with automotive parts / service / mechanics, I am relatively new to the MB specialty side of things.
That being said, I am trying to locate a Carb part(s) for the company's owner. He has a 72 250. The illustration that he gave me calls the part a "Float Chamber Vent Valve". I am looking to buy 1 or 2. New would be a miracle. Very good used would be great. I would like a used top of the carb for someone has knocked out the plate on the top. Front carb R-3634 / Rear carb R-3635. The 250 will not idle. The customer as well as the owner would want to retain as much of the originality of these carbs without replacing them. Thanks. Erick. |

Is this the Zenith 35/40? If so, I may have a carb top, and the 2 center parts of the carb with the vents on them; however, the carb is mostly complete, and taking out the guts would only leave a few table scraps. Let me know if this is the correct carb. (I have gaskets too)

I believe the vent valves were eliminated on beginning with the 1972 US models. That may be why you friend cannot find them. They are a simple valve that is lifted by the linkage, nothing fancy just spring loaded to close when not needed.
