1972 250 Zenith Carb Part

I work as a parts man for a very highly skilled MB shop with original roots from Germany. Although I have many years experience with automotive parts / service / mechanics, I am relatively new to the MB specialty side of things.
That being said, I am trying to locate a Carb part(s) for the company's owner. He has
a 72 250. The illustration that he gave me calls the part a "Float Chamber Vent Valve".
I am looking to buy 1 or 2. New would be a miracle. Very good used would be great. I would like a used top of the carb for someone has knocked out the plate on the top.
Front carb R-3634 / Rear carb R-3635.
The 250 will not idle. The customer as well as the owner would want to retain as much of the originality of these carbs without replacing them.
Thanks.
Erick.

Is this the Zenith 35/40? If so, I may have a carb top, and the 2 center parts of the carb with the vents on them; however, the carb is mostly complete, and taking out the guts would only leave a few table scraps. Let me know if this is the correct carb. (I have gaskets too)

I believe the vent valves were eliminated on beginning with the 1972 US models. That may be why you friend cannot find them. They are a simple valve that is lifted by the linkage, nothing fancy just spring loaded to close when not needed.
