The RENESIS RX8 motor reaches 9000rpm.
I believe the Ferrari V-8's hit 8500rpm. The V-8 is geared for revving and not for torque. I guess firing order at 90 degrees helps accomplish that. |

That was a 300SEL 3.0 or 2.8. Note the 'AUTOMATIC' on the right side of the trunk/boot lid.

The C111 gullwing test car started life with a wankle rotary engine. They decided it would never be economical enough, so the car transformed into the test bed for the turbo diesel instead.

BTW..the car could not have been a 6.3 judging from the brake booster and the 6.3 has a w111 type clock on front of the dash, his doesn't.... Also, judging from the chrome trim across the dash it is an early w109 with 2.8L, which is even more rare than 6.3 with less than 1900 units produced worldwide....This guy is a misinformed idiot with more cash than brains
