W116 280S Emissions ques. M110
Hey guys. I have a 1975 280S that's registered as a historic vehicle so it's completely exempt from inspection and emissions.
That said I want to being to slowly sap more power out of the car by removing the restrictive systems on the engine. Anyone have a good guide to removing the smog pump/catalytic converter etc, basically things I don't exactly need to meet emissions requirements? What are the ramifications if I removed the above and all other corresponding parts etc etc. Any guidance welcome. Thanks y'all.

If you have the "cat" mounted on the front of the manifold you need to locate some pre-75 exhaust manifolds. You'll need to replace the exhaust pipes from the engine to wherever they connect. Some have a "Y" pipe and some run dual all the way back to the muffler. Any decent exhaust shop can make them up for you.
