A/F ratio adjustment
What would be a good procedure for adjusting the map sensor and the co2 adjustment on the ecu? I'm dealing with a d-jet 4.5.
I've done the basics. Timing and dwell is in check, new plugs, all the sensors test good, Timing chain checks out. But it seems no matter how I adjust the map sensor, I get a horrible exhaust smell and even worse millage. I actually have good power now but If I adjust the fuel mixture until I get a good idle, the smell gets worse. Of cores I don't have a co2 meter, so a rough setup procedure would get me going. Any tricks you might have learned or links you may know would help. I want so bad for this car to be practical to drive! |

send me your email off forum and I will send you the adjustment proceedure for the MAP sensor as a word document. just remember you have to have everything else correct, timing, valves etc and you should have about 17 inches of vacuum at warm idle, otherwise do more adjustments before playing with the MAP

Pressure Sensor adjustment
It is very difficult to adjust the pressure sensor by a "seat of the pants" method. There is no reason the Pressure Sensor should ever need to be adjusted-when the bellows ruptures the unit needs to be replaced or rebuilt.
Here is some usefull info on the D-jet system and pressure sensor. There are links in this segment to the rest of the article. Tony http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/manifold_pressure_sensor.htm
