Question Please tell me what this W123 console switch does

Hi all.

On my new W123 250 (1979) there is a centre console rocker switch that has a small white circle (approx 8mm diameter) in the upper part of the switch. I can't figure out what it does. Could it be the air conditioning switch? It is located between the rear windscreen defroster and rear cabin reading light switches.

Thanks for your help.
Joseph.

That should be the air recirculation switch. If you push it 'up' a red led should light up and the outside air flapper should close.

That "small white circle" is the location of the icon that told you what it does. Aggresive cleaners can remove the black mask.

Sunroof?

It's not A/C.

Is is a Mercedes switch or aftermarket? My 240D had an antenna up and down switch in that location. But that would have a marking on the lower half of the switch as well.
