fintail front speaker grill?
I have what I think is a 111 front speaker grill but I am not sure. Anyone know where I can find a photo of such a grill?
It appears to be made of a Bakealite plastic and measures about 11.5 inches long and 3.25 inches wide; 3.5 inches with the mounting lip. It has 7 ribs running lengthwise and two ribs front to back. Oddly enough, for a Mercedes, it has no part number. I just found this in my shop where it has been for who knows how long. Anyone know if this is from a 111 Mercedes? I know a photo would help, but my camera just went kaput. Thanks all! Pooka |

By the way, I intend to sell this when I find out just what it is, so if anyone wants to make me an offer I am open to one.
I know this is not the parts for sale area, but I did not want to post there until I found out for sure if this was from a 111. Thanks! Pooka |

Sounds like one to me, they are a brittle plastic but I don't think they are bakelite. The one in my car matches the color of the dash in maroon. I believe the more upscale models and coupes/etc had wooden ones. I'm sure those are worth ridiculous money.

I have seen the wooden ones but it was a long time ago. They did look classy, but I woundered about sound quality as they got older and began to delaminate.
Thanks for your reply. As soon as I get my camera working again I will post this in the for sale area. The color of this looks to me ta be something like dark, dark brown but a photo would be necessary for someone to know for sure. Thanks again! Pooka |
