Question transmission slippage

My '79 450sl transmission slips when I first start out in am. After it warms up, it works fine. During the days drive-start-stop-it works fine. I have checked fluid and it is ok. What is causing the problem and what do i do to correct it?

it could be a leaky vacuum modulator.

If that doesn't leak vacuum then it is probably just a old tranny with worn bands.

Oh, I don't know, Ron. Since you're sporting about in your SL you've got plenty of "FLAIR"!

Now, "flare" on the other hand......
