will it fit, and work?

Need to find a clutch master cylinder for my 1962 w110 190c. I found one from a 220 series benz, same year, they look very similar, would it work on my 190c. I don't see why not.... any input greatly appreciated

I think your 190 is a 110.000 or 110.001. The PN for the master cylinder is 000 295 23 06 from chassis 64106. This is used in 110.xxx cars where xxx = 000, 001, 010, 016, 100, 101, 104, 110, 116.

The 220's came in 010, 012, 014, 021, and 023 flavors.

So I guess it would depend on which 220 it came from.

Smile will it fit, and work?

Hi all,

This was an informative thread. Thanks for posting it. I came across it while trying to find out if I can use the cheaper clutch master cylinder on my car.

I have a 1967 200D (W110 chassis). The VIN is 110 110 10-369289 and it does have a brake booster and separate brake and clutch fluid reservoirs. I need a new master cylinder. MBZ Classic Center says I need part # 000 295 23 06 which I imagine is correct, however the cost is over $400. I am wondering if part # 000 295 24 06 will work instead. It's just one digit off :-) and significantly cheaper (around $80) and looks correct on the outside. A lot of parts sites say will work but I'm not sure. Any clarification is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

I'd compare bore size. If smaller, you might not have enough pedal travel to release the clutch. If larger, the pedal will be stiffer and possibly over stroke the release bearing / pressure plate unless you add / adjust a pedal travel stop.

Is the clutch slave the same bore between the two cars?

Another variation might be the MC push rod but these can generally be swapped.

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the Peach Parts Forum!

A lot of parts for these cars are interchangeable. Are the prices you quoted both from the Classic Center? The host of this forum Peach Parts sells Mercedes branded and other brands of parts with competitive prices and delivery to your door. In many cases, the Mercedes part is manufactured and branded Mercedes and also branded/sold under the manufacturer name for a lesser price.

One of the traditions on the forum is for a new comer to start a thread to introduce themselves and their car(s). We love pictures! Please take a moment to help us get to know you by telling us about your car. Was this car a barn find? A family member's beloved treasure? Or followed you home from a swap meet? Is this your first Mercedes? Do you have experience with car repair? Etc. The introduction will help you make friends here and get people interested in your project and willing to share their experience.

Thank you in advance for being a part of the Peach Parts community. I have learned much over the years and enjoy being a part of and passing along the good stuff that makes me come back.

Jeffrey
