Becker question

I have a Becker Europa, it has the FM buttons and BC buttons. Dumb question, how do I change bands? If I roll the tuning wheel, how do I know if I am in AM or FM?

thanks
Fred

The buttons change bands.

If you cannot tell which band by the sound quality, perhaps your speaker needs replacing.

Look closely at your pushbuttons. The one last selected will be depressed
slightly compared to the remainder. When you push another button, the previous one will pop back out. Place your finger under the pushbutton into the recess and pull out to set a preset station.

So if I push an FM button, and the tune the knob, I am still in FM?

That is correct.

I always wondered why my 6.3 had longwave and shortwave on the radio. Guess it was used in Europe but not USA. I never really could get anything other than solitary sounding beeps on either long or short wave - do not remember which.

Mine is a 6.3 as well. I had becker rebuild it, and add an Ipod jack in front. I don't have an Ipod but I plugged in a satellite radio and it doesn't work. The becker cuts out like it should, but I get no sound from the satellite receiver. I am hoping there is not a difference in signal (headphone jack ) and that the Becker is looking for exactly an Ipod.

if your sat radio plug out is for earphones, then it should work. With an ipod input you normally have to turn the volume up in order to hear it thru the becker

The Becker Grand Prix that was in my 69 6.3 was able to receive those broadcasts at night.
