Shipping a car from San Francisco to DC
Hi all,
I would like to ship my W111 Coupe back from Sans Francisco CA to Washington DC at the end of my trip. The car is operational and does not require any special treatment. What would be my best option, who is doing a good job for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance |

Pick up the "old car bible"
I was a long time subscriber to Hemmings Motor News.If you picked up the latest issue at any bookstore you will find hundreds of advertisers for vehicle transport.Open trailers usually run about 50% of the enclosed trailer prices. There are everything from one man operations using a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup truck and gooseneck trailer to large enclosed semi's that can carry 5-6 cars in a 53 ft trailer. These larger operations used to give discounts for "standby" if you aren't in a hurry or have some flexability in pickup dates.
It's been several years(3-4 at least) but at that time standby rates were about 1000$ to go coast to coast in a 53 ft enclosed. |

I shipped a Rolls from Calif to KY enclosed with door to door ship and it was nearly $1800. Do your homework, some are cheaper than others , some require cash at pick up, some give time lines , others so not. I was satisfied with the carrier we used ( cant remember name lol) Do a search for my name and look under the thread "need to ship a Rolls" there are some good groups listed there.
