M115 engine vacuum lines

I have a 1974 230.4 M115/W115 with the Stromberg 175 CD carb. It runs very roughly and very rich even after rebuilding the carb. It had been messed with prior to my ownership, and I believe the vacuum lines may have been switched around.

I have the CD manual only, and only see a reference to how the lines hook up at the carb end. Does anyone have a chart showing where the other ends are supposed to go? I'm not even sure that the vacuum line to the distributor is correctly attached.

Thanks in advance,
John

The section on emission control should have diagrams. I had a print copy of the M115 engine manual that had the diagrams (sorry, don't have it anymore). Unless for some reason it was left out of the CD service manual, it should be in the engine manual section on the CD. My previous 230/4 seemed to be a bit rich despite anything I did, but since I was able to adjust the mixture to either side of ideal, I just left it at the best setting. That car only got 19MPG, which seems a bit low for a four banger.

If you find the information on your CD, also pay attention to how the emission control system operates, and test it out.

Same question for my 69 w115 with stromberg - Which of the 3 brass nipples coming out of the top of the carb where it mates to the intake go to the Vacuum on the carb?? You are also linked to my other thread on timing - hope you can help.

Side not on the carb - would like more info on the cold start sometime.

Chris
