fuel pressure?sensors or pump?

Hi guys, im hoping i could come over onto this site from mbclub too see if i could get a little advice?
I've got 1973 280ce W114,M110 inline 6, which starts but doesn't stay running? if i clamp the return fuel line (so it gets the pressure build up) the car revs and idles ok but if i leave the retuen pipe to go back to the tank then the car just dies, literally after starting? i replaced the pressure reg thinking this may be the culprit but it isn't....
Has anyone else had this kind of problem?
Any help would be great! Thanks

CE, as in Djet fuel injection? Plumb a fuel pressure guage into the supply line and make sure the system is getting and holding 32 PSI, especially when you turn the motor off and the fuel pump stops running.

If it's not then, you can adjust the fuel pressure regulator a little (the 3-port little can with the screw on the end). The regulator, damper (2-port little can w/o screw) and fuel pump can be swapped out from any other D-jet EFI car (mercedes or otherwise).
