Hi,
I've got a really weird problem in my 1970 280SE 3.5. It has the Behr AC but I have never actually installed it properly until this week (it is a transplant from a long-ago crushed US model 3.5 coupe). Well, I got the AC wired in and everything works sort of OK (weak cooling - probably the compressor), but I have yet to figure out how to route the AC condensate out of the car! There are two drains coming off each side of the Behr blower - one on the lower left rear corner and the other on the lower right corner. However, the left side drain is a little pipe that bends 90 degrees to the RIGHT whereas the drain on the right rear of the compressor exits toward the firewall (straight). This suggests that whatever tube I connect each portal must be joined to the tube from the other side, as there is only one small hole in the floor which could serve a a conduit drain for the AC condensate.
There is also a drain device ("bladder") on the firewall that might be involved, although I don't see how. So does anyone have a Behr AC and can tell me how to rig it up to drain out the condensate?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew
