Mercedes 600 value?

Collectible? I have found a nice 600 with under 100K but have no idea of its value. Anyone got any pointers?

A lot. They are pretty complex cars with hydaulic suspenison, seats and windows. Be advised they will be expensive to run.

Expensive is an understatement.

Cars are hand built, used parts are thin on the ground, and new parts cost the earth.

Lovely car, if you have an unlimited bank account.

Visit our international M100 club site http://www.m-100.cc and poke around at the pictures and threads. There's a rather long "buyers guide" thread that will give you pointers on what to look for.

These cars are fabulous when they are maintained well. They are super-duper expensive to get into that condition.

They have air windows and seats?

I think they have hydraulic windows and seats.

Completely sorting out a M100 alone will likely set you back a large sum of $$$$

Wonderful cars, but you couldn't give me one at this point. I don't have the income to treat one properly. I wouldn't even take a 6.9 (though it would be tempting) or a 6.3 right now.

Just refering to the suspension. They have the same basic setup that was on the 300SE fintail (W112) and W109.

Interesting idea though, pneumatic seats, if a airline broke you would get a buttload of air!

i saw one once on ebay with a 460ci lincoln engine and regular electric windows in it. I bet that would be cheaper to run.

If you are not interested in it could you let the rest of us know about it? Even in bad shape, and they can get that way quickly if they are not maintained, they are worth something as parts cars. I have seen them in deplorable condition that were still worth something.

By the way, the suspension is air. The windows, seats, trunk lid and a/c blend doors move hydraulicly.

If you go look at it don't slam the trunk lid as it will damage the hydraulic system that shuts the trunk. Easy does it.
